6 Best Bars in Havana

Today, Havana’s most famous bars include El Floridita, the re-opened Sloppy Joe’s and the iconic Hotel Nacional, with its sublime terrace. All of these places are fun and full of atmosphere, but are also packed with camera-touting tourists, and very few locals. Plus, they harken back to Havana’s past. Bohemio Bar

Casa Miglis

El Cocinero

Calle 26 e/ 11 y 13, Vedado Three flights up a spiral staircase is this rooftop bar that draws a mixed crowd of affluent young Cubans, expatriates and families (who come for dinner). The mango daiquiri is the house specialty.

Esencia Habana

O’Reilly 304

O’Reilly e/ Habana y Aguiar, Old Havana 5-264-4725 A split-level bar space with some of the best tacos in town, O’Reilly 304 serves eight creative takes on the gin and tonic (one has rose petals)”along with 30-plus other Cuban and international cocktails.

Sangri-La
